Clean Up Australia Day 2020

Clean Up Australia Day 2020 - Noosa

On the 1st of March the team from ’Our Oceans Future’ will be hosting their second annual Clean Up Australia Day event!!

What Is Our Oceans Future?

“We are just a local team of dedicated and passionate waterman and women, who are set on protecting and preserving our local waterways and ecosystems. Later in 2020 we hope to launch our team as a non for profit organisation, so we can engage more in achieving our goals. In the mean time we will still be organising community based clean ups on significant environmental dates, as we are with this event.

About The Event

This years event will be held on Sunday the 1st of March as it is also the day of ‘Clean up Australia Day.’ The event will be held at the Noosa spit / river mouth and everyone is welcome! The aim of this event is to collect as much rubbish as possible from our local waterways, beaches and ecosystems. The event will start at 1:30pm with the cleanup kicking off at 2pm. We will meet back at the spit with all collected rubbish at 4pm for a BBQ, drinks and giveaways. Those who do the best work will receive some prices that we have gathered. There will be bags to collect rubbish provided before the cleanup commences, however we recommend you bring gloves and some sort of transport (boat or ski) All rubbish from the event will be sorted, recycled and then dumped by the OOF team. This event is open to public so we would love to see as many of you locals down there doing your bit for this magnificent place we call home.

Clean Up Australia Day 2019

In 2019 we held the same event, for its first year and we had a hugely successful afternoon. In total we collected approximately 700 kilograms of rubbish and we had about 85 people involved. We hope that this year we can get 150 people involved and collect nearly 1000kg of rubbish!!

Gold Coin Donation

The one thing the OOF team is asking, is for everyone attending to bring a gold coin donation, all funds raised will go directly to the surrounding rural fire services. As the boys were affected themselves they are true believers in giving back to the volunteers that risks their lives to save their home, so please help those who helped us and donate to an amazing cause!
