Iso Fishing Comp WINNERS (Topdog Tackle)

SCF Research & Sustainability Photo Competition winners, stats, data report & glory photos!

About Top Dog Tackle..

Top Dog Tackle is owned and operated by Sunshine Coast local angler Dyllon Schulz. Dyl got his first boat at 10 years old and has fished ever since. During that time Dyl spent 3 years long line tuna fishing, has been a decky on numerous game fishing boats and spent 5 years operating his own ‘Hold Up’. He’s also been a resident ‘Fisho’ on Namotu Island in Fiji the last 10 years and become a professional guide in recent years.

It is up to the ‘Fisho’ at Namotu to catch fresh fish daily to feed the islands guests as well as the local Fijians who live/work on the island. After years and years of loosing countless amounts of tackle Dyl knew he had to come up with a more cost effective method to feed his passion for fishing, and thats how Top Dog Tackle started! His original plan was to provide affordable products that work, simple! The results are already speaking for themselves and now the brand is gaining an enormous amount of momentum Dyl is committed to developing some customised products and continue to provide affordable products that work. Thank you so much to everyone who participated in our spur of he moment Isolation Fishing Competition over the Easter long weekend! We set a new Australian record for the most recreational fishing data collected in that time period so please give yourself a pat on the back! This online Research & Sustainability Event was also used as a test run to see if it was possible to run our 2020 major events 100% wirelessly/remotely. Everyone followed the instructions perfectly and there was very minimal issues so we are confident all future event shall continue as planned. There will obviously just be some new rules and regulations put into place so everyone adheres to the COVID-19 laws that may sill be in place.

*Under 35 and presence is growing well beyond the Sunshine Coast with entries from all states and territories (including New Zealand, Fiji & Christmas Island)
* Aspirational
* Non-denominational - As in not tied to a specific club or fishing style, noting the involvement of spear fishers and all vessel/land based options present
